China imports US$2.8 Billion Fresh Durian Fruit in Just 4 Months!

Thai durian exporters have capitalised on the ASEAN-China free trade agreement (FTA) and the Regional Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP) by exporting about US$2.8 billion worth of fresh durian to China from January to April this year, a substantial increase of 85.31% over the same period last year, according to the Thai Foreign Trade Department. 2022 Has Been a Big Year For Durian in China

There's good news for Chinese durian lovers: More shipments of the pungent-smelling tropical durian fruit are making their way into China from Southeast Asia, thanks to the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, or RCEP. A batch of 18.24 metric tons of fresh Vietnamese durians arrived in Youyiguan Port in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region in late September.
